Omaha Cricket Association Omaha Titans v Musketeers on Sat 30 Apr 2011 at 9:00 AM
Omaha Cricket Association Lost by 2 wickets

Match report Musketeers hold their nerves and clinch a last ball win.

On a bright 72 degree Saturday afternoon, besides the misleading overcast weather.com report, Musketeers and the Titans locked their heads for the cricket bout at N.P. Dodge Park. Game started as per schedule with new faces in both teams. Titans captain, Sudhakar won the toss and elected to bat considering the warm conditions.

Sudhakar and Asad opened the innings with some stroke play, but Asad fell in the second over for a blinder from Gopal Allam. Naveen entered and penetrated the field along a lusty huge six behind the bowler, but soon the rookies turned the scheme of things. Hari B. bowled Naveen in his first spell, which triggered a sequence of wickets from the musketeer rookie bowlers Hari, Krishna Chaitanya and Srinivas Ravinthula. Vikram Arjun's spell was also tremendous under the circumstances. At one stage, Titans were 80/7 in 14 overs, but the Titans built their innings and ended up scoring 127/9 in 20 overs. Prashanth Apsinghe top scored with 22 for Titans.

Musketeers captain Devkanth, had a decent score ahead to overcome, with Lokesh B. and R.Jeoffrey opening the batting for his side. Titans bowled well and got the first wicket of Lokesh in the 3rd over. Praveen Gudipati and R.Jeoffrey went on building the innings and put away the loose balls, but the run-rate was creeping up. Musketeers were 92-1 at the 15 over mark. R.Jeoffrey retired hurt with an ankle spasm, but the run-rate had to be boosted. Devkanth and Praveen started to propel, but in doing so, lost Praveen to a skier, and subsequently Devkanth held up a skier. Musketeers were 102-3 now at 17th over mark. Raj and the middle order contributed some runs, but quick succession of wickets rallied the required run-rate. Last over was the turning point, Musketeers needed 12 runs in 6 balls, where a succession of wides from Giri and a succession of 2's helped them overcome the score.
Thanks to the 50-run partnership between Praveen G(41) and R. Jeoffrey (33), and overall bowling performance helped Musketeers mark a "W" in their first outing.

Summary:
Titans - 127/9 (20 overs)
Musketeers - 128/8 in (20 overs)
