Mavericks won the toss and chose to bat first in a contest reduced to 20 overs. Avinash and Satish Anand opened the innings for mavericks. They lost Satish and Praveen very early but avinash with the support of yashveen kept the score board moving at a good pace. Yashveen(13) and Avinash(38) got out in quick succession to saravanan and bharat respectively and mavericks were 74/4 at the half way. Chaitanya(24) then took the responsibility of consolidating with the support of Pradeep(12) , anil(9) and hiren(12). Mavericks scored 137 for the loss of 9 wickets.

In reply,Challengers opened with Lenin and Meghadeep but lost lenin's wicket early. Meghadeep and sandeep made sure that they didn't loose an other wicket early. Avinash got rid of meghadeep which brought Satish to the crease.They took the score to 62/2 at the end of 10th over which meant they needed 76 of last 10 overs which wasn't very tough with likes of bhaskar,karthik,saravanan yet to come. But, Yashveen who was brought in to the attack in the 12th over had other thoughts. He removed Satish,bhaskar and the run out of sandeep swung the match towards mavericks. Saravanan scored couple of boundaries but that wasn't enough. Challengers were all out for 111.

Mavericks won by 26 runs.
