Omaha Cricket Association Lincoln Cricket Club v Challengers on Sat 18 Jun 2011 at 9:00 AM
Omaha Cricket Association Won by 55 runs

Match report It was a very cloudy day. We were hoping that we do not get rains and spoil the cricket. It has been a long time since we batted first and we were hoping to win the toss and elect to bat. Further there was a point to prove since we lost the first match batting first and never had a chance to bat first after that. We lost the toss and we were put into bat which is exactly what we wanted.

Bharath and Gowtham opened the innings. Both of them were pretty new to opening and it was interesting to see what was going to happen. Both of them played sensibly and started taking quick singles and two's. They comfortably reached 33 runs in 5 overs. Gowtham started to blast after that and we reached 58 runs in 8 overs. Gowtham then got out going for the big shots and Bharath also got out the next ball playing the cut shot. Raghav came in and he was steadily taking the ones and twos. On the other end we lost Vineet, Sudhir and Vijay M in quick succession which brought Rampi in. Rampi got couple of chances but made good use of it. Right at the time when they were ready to blast, Raghav got out after playing a good inning's. Rampi with the help of some sensible batting from Mamur, Vijay D and Rama took the score to 136 in 20 overs. Overall it was a great team effort.

Vijay D and Prem opened the bowling for LCC and they bowled really well. We got couple of wickets in first few overs which got Arun in. Arun was scoring very freely and scored one six each of Vijay D and Prem. Prem started getting back on track and bowled a steady line and length which really challenged the Challengers. Rampi started bowling from the other end replacing Vijay D( Vijay did a nice job in his 3 over spell). Rampi bowled a great line and length and the batsmen were really struggling and he got Sudhakar out.. They reached 41 runs in 9 overs. We dropped couple of crucial catches during the first 9 overs. Raghav tried leg spin on the 10th over and proved to be a costly over with 12 runs coming off it. We immediately replaced Raghav with Gowtham. Two of their dangerous batsmen were in the middle and Gowtham got Manju out and Arun also got out after that. LCC was sailing after that and Vijay M, Mamur and Rama completed the rest by bowling one over each and Challengers were all out for 80 odd runs. Overall a wonderful team game.
