Omaha Challengers beat Omaha Hunters by 8 runs

27 Jul 2014

Challengers won the toss and elected to bat. They did not start of well as they lost 4 wickets in no time. Anil Peyyala's spell of 4/23 dismantled the Challenger's top order. Bhaskar Krishna (16) came in for the rescue and managed two good partnerships with Srinivas Karri (11) and Hiren (21) to stabilize the Challenger's innings. Rakesh scored 22 in the end to set up a target of 135 for the Hunters.
Chasing a target of 135, Hunters had a horrible start by losing 3 quick wickets. Satish (41) and Pavan (28) had a brilliant 4th wicket partnership, which made sure they were in the hunt. Srikar broke the partnership by picking up the well settled Satish. 3 quite overs for Hunters increased the required rate, which increased the pressure on the batsmen. They kept swinging at the ball hard without much success. Challengers kept taking wickets to seal the game. Aditya Bade (21 off 13 balls) played brilliant cameo at the end but it was not enough as Hunters fell short by 9 runs. For Challengers, Avinash (3/24) and Bharat (2/27) were the pick of the bowlers.
