NCC beat Cedar Rapids All Stars in the final of Freedom cup 2009 played at Cedar Rapids. Asked to field first, NCC restricted CRAS to 155 in twenty overs and chased the required target with 3 balls to go in a tight finish. Pradhip Swaminathan was declared best bowler of the tournament for his 4 wkt spell against CRC in the league phase. Abhimanyu Lakhsman and JJ were declared Man of the match.

NCC participated in CR T20 tournament. On June 20th 2009, NCC first beat CR-C team and then lost to CR-All Stars. Bala Scored magnificient half century (again) in the first match.

Omaha cricket club lost their third straight game against Lincoln Cricket Club, on sunday May 17th 2009. Asked to score 158, OCC were bundled out with more than 15 to score.

The second match of the season was played on 25th April 2009 amid cold weather and some showers. The rivalry of OCC and LCC continues. This friendly match was organized by Pradhip Swaminathan and Malkii, to give a taste to anyone who wanted to try out playing real cricket and boy people did get the taste of what cricket is all about. Unfortunately, even with equipment available players underestimated the red cherry and the first causalty of the season was Jatin Khurana who was hit on face by the ball deflected of his bat. Not wearing the helmet caused him some pain but he will be back on nets on tuesday. As they say no pain no gain. The second casualty was Phani from Lincoln team, who got hit on head, both players are doing fine now. Lincoln Cricket Club was the eventual winner so congratulations to them. The Iowa League starts soon and hopefully by then the players would be raring to go after the friendly games in the past few weeks.

The cricket season for 2009 has started, OCC were able to host a match in second week of april. The practice match was played between Malkii XI and Pradhip XI, comprising if players from OCC and other members from Omaha.
