History

Omaha Cricket Club is proud to be one of the oldest cricket clubs in the Midwest. The OCC was founded in 1991 by a group of cricket aficionados, including Paresh Chotu Bhai, Sethupathi Thangamuthu, Srinivas Chilukuri, Floyd Campbell, and Vish Viswanadhan. The club consisted of 2 teams Omaha cricket club and Nebraska Cricket Club. In 2001 club decided to name the team playing local leagues as Omaha Cricket Club and combined team of OCC and LCC ( Lincoln Cricket Club) as Nebraska Cricket Club representing us outside the state lines for tournaments and leagues. The city of Omaha and the Omaha Parks & Recreation Dept. was generous enough to provide a state-of-the-art ground that features near perfect playing area dimensions. OCC members take pride in playing in North Omaha's historic N.P. Dodge Park, which has gained a reputation as one of the best grounds the in Midwest and, arguably, one of the finest in the nation. Our club partnership with the city of Omaha has received publicity in print publications, as well as on the television and radio, within Nebraska and Iowa.
